Bio:
David Chapa is the Consulting Manager for
DataStaff, Inc. responsible for managing
the vision and direction of DataStaff's
consulting practices. Prior to joining
DataStaff, Mr. Chapa held several senior
level technical positions with various
software manufacturers in the Backup/Recovery
market space. His experience spans 18 years in
the computer industry with such companies as
Cheyenne Software, Unisys, OpenVision and NSI
Software with the last 9 years having been
focused solely on Backup/Recovery and Data
Availability. During his career he has had
the opportunity to work with a variety of
Operating Systems including Netware, NT
and Unix. When he has a choice, Mr. Chapa will
spend most of his time in Unix. Mr. Chapa is a
Certified Veritas NetBackup Instructor for both
NetBackup Fundamentals Class and the Advanced
NetBackup class and continues to teach for
Veritas Software. He developed the original
NetBackup training course material while at
OpenVision. He chooses to remain a billable
consultant as he enjoys the client contact
and continues to find the work challenging
and stimulating. He has been working with
NetBackup since version 1.6 and has installed,
configured and tuned NetBackup for many companies,
large and small, across the country and Canada.
