Systems Management - The Bigger Picture Geoff Halprin
Topic: Systems Management Audience: All audiences
Description: This paper examines the 14 Key Areas of Responsibility in modern Systems Management.
As a system administrator, you must address each of these 14 areas to do your job well.
Typically, the reactive history of system adminstration is such that a number of these
areas are not addressed until a failure in that area. By listing and discussing each of
these, this paper hopes to assist people in planning their longer term efforts and
improvement projects. This paper is also intended to educate corporate management in the
complexities and responsibilities of systems management.
