For password aging information regarding Solaris go to docs.sun.com
Select 2.5.1 or 2.6 doc set and enter password aging as a query.

It is supported in base Solaris and NIS+.

This excerpt from the passwd man page on my Solaris 2.7 system indicates
that it is not supported on NIS.  It would appear to imply that NIS
itself does not support aging unless enhanced or changed by other
vendors.


 -s name   Show password attributes for the login  name.  For
               the  nisplus  repository, this works for everyone.
               However for the files repository, this only  works
               for the superuser. It does not work at all for the
               nis  repository which does  not  support  password
               aging.
