take a look at
	http://www.conserver.com/
	which allows multiple users to watch a serial console at the
	same time and can log the data.

also the command dmesg may capture most of the boot messages, so
during boot we have a init.d script that saves the output of the
command dmesg inot a file /var/log/dmesg.log
