I see the sonicwall boxes Soho2, Soho3, Tele3 used in a lot of small
business that I go to.

There are also several router/firewalls on the market for even less.

Siemens, Linksys, D-Link and SMC, all make a @129.00US Firewall.

I don't know if any of these are out of your price range or not, but
they are a lot less than checkpoint1 on ipso.

I've always found SAGE to be a good S/N filter.
