I haven't used it myself, but Bacula(R) - www.bacula.org - looks
promising.  Includes multi-volume backups, database of files backed
up, ability to do "bare metal" restores (or so I've heard), modular.

You mention your library has 14(!) DLT drives - I get the impression
that Bacula has some limitations in dealing with jukeboxes, and
doesn't seem to support a "pool" of drives for a given backup set
(or something like that).
