how nice for you, that you have lots of money to throw around.
For my own standards, I dont define "professional" or "sysadmin", by
"the person has hundreds of dollars that he can spend without feeling it".
For an organization that is supposed to have a wide reach, including junior
people who presumably make very little, it is an excessive fee.
FYI: I'm actually in a senior position. However, I also have a LOT of
unavoidable expenses. Like being sole income in a family of 5, for example.
Every dollar counts, for me. I'm only a paying member this year, because my
company decided to foot the bill.
BTW: for a long time, it was "SAGE == $100 + $40" or whatever.
If it really is the case now that we can pay $40 only to get all online
resources, then I dont have so much to complain about reguarding dues.
But the executive salary is still obscene. More on that in a separate
email.
