And when it comes to cabling under floor, don't forget that you have 
to be careful about flooding.  You really, really don't want to have 
even the remotest possible chance of flooding a computer room with a 
raised floor and power cables under the floor.


There's a really cool story about the Network Manager of AOL coming 
into the back door of what was then the single computer room one 
night back in the early 90s when there had been a lot of rain, and 
discovered that there was about two feet of water *above* the raised 
floor, with another 18" of water beneath, and having to climb from 
rack to rack in order to get to the Emergency Power Off switch by the 
front door.
