I currently use an HTC MDA (T-Mobile MDA). Large screen, slide-out
keyboard, Windows Mobile 5.
- mToken for ssh.
- Pocket IE or the WM build of Firefox or Opera for web browsing.
- Missing Sync on OS X for syncing everything and installing
apps/mounting the storage.
- IM+ for instant messaging.
- pRSSreader for RSS feeds
- phoneAlarm from PocketMax for easier control/notification on the today
screen, more profiles, time-based profile switching, etc.
- iLauncher from sbsh for easier app access
- BTAudioToggle to send ALL phone output to a BT headset.
- Google Maps mobile client
- Google Mail mobile
- ClearVue PDF viewer, Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Word Mobile
- Built in mail application for dealing with POP/IMAP, as well as
syncing to our Exchange server
Once you get over the "Ick! Windows!" mentality and realize that
everything has its uses, it's actually quite a nice little phone.
(accidentally deleted about 3 paragraphs of text regarding my extensive
history of pocketable computing devices in my search for the perfect
portable, networked solution, and my caveat that I never seem to be
without a notebook with at least 2 if not 3 ways of connecting to the
network, so trying to find a "do it all" pocket device seems to satisfy
the gadget freak in me more than any real need)
