If you can get Java installed, then you've got the option of using 
the Opera mini-browser.  Good stuff from what I've heard.  There are 
also a couple of other alternative browsers that are supposed to be 
pretty good, including tabbed-mode support.

For To-Do list management, I found DateBook6 to be way too confusing. 
IMO, ListPro is much, much better.

There's also QuickNews for RSS, and a whole host of other tools I 
could tell you about.
