Request for Proposals for SAGE Short Topics Booklets

SAGE welcomes proposals from authors for new booklets to be published in the series Short Topics in System Administration, as well as for updates of published booklets. Booklets should:

  • Address a topic of general interest to the system administration community
  • Cover the topic within 9,000–40,000 words (20–90 booklet pp.)

The proposal needs to contain the following information:

  1. Working title
  2. Statement of purpose: the goals of this booklet and why this topic would be of interest to SAGE members
  3. Draft outline
  4. Name and contact information for each author
  5. Pertinent information about the authors, e.g., a resumé or a description of experience relevant to the booklet topic

Booklet drafts will be reviewed by qualified individuals in the field. The authors will not be expected to copyedit, design, typeset, or print the booklet. The authors are expected to proofread the copyedited and typeset version. A contract, including deadlines, copyright and compensation, will be executed with USENIX upon approval and acceptance of a proposal.

Send proposals to the Short Topics Series Editors at sagebooklets@usenix.org.

About the Series

Short Topics in System Administration is a series of booklets published by SAGE for the system administration community. They are intended to fill a void in the current information structure, presenting topics in thorough, refereed fashion, but staying small enough and flexible enough to grow with the community. These booklets are "living documents" which are updated as needed.
