We have updated the guides to add support for Solaris 2.6 (SPARC) and the End User cluster (GUI interface) on Solaris 2.6. We have made minor changes to clarify procedures and apply lessons learned in additional installations.

CERT Advisory 98.01 deals with denial-of-services attacks using ICMP echo request packets (ping). The following two configuration changes offer one defense against these attacks: Preventing incoming broadcast packets from entering your network; Preventing the system from responding to incoming broadcast packets.
